Financial negotiations about the park rent with Lambeth Council are subject to commercial confidentiality. However, the income from Brockwell Live helps pay for park maintenance, including the £500,000 annual cost of maintaining Brockwell Park, and to fund the Lambeth Events team who deliver over 200 community events a year.
In addition to the rent, Brockwell Live contributes £100k each year to the Park Investment Levy (PIL) which is ring-fenced for park improvements only. The park investment levy is transferred to the Parks department and in consultation with the Brockwell Park Community Partners is spent on various projects, including biodiversity initiatives, restoration of heritage facilities (such as the Listed clock tower outside Brockwell Hall), and enhancements to play and sport facilities.
PIL is not used for park repairs, which are funded by Lambeth, or for repairs after the events which are funded by the event organiser.
Furthermore, Brockwell Live has donated over £139k to local community projects since 2019, and for more information on this and how to apply, please see here

The event organisers aim to protect Brockwell Park as much as possible. We use over 11,000m2 of temporary roadways and walkways in order to help minimise the impact to the grass within the park.
Brockwell Live works with park stakeholders including the Lambeth Landscapes team, the Parks and Sports Development Officer and the Arboricultural Officer to understand our impact on trees, wildlife, and biodiversity. Our plans include designing the site in such a way as to have minimal impact on the flora and fauna of the park, monitoring noise, limiting working hours, and tracking ground conditions throughout our time on site.
Once the event period is complete on June 16th, no further major commercial events will take place in Brockwell Park. All public spaces will be cleaned and returned to the best possible standard by the event organisers and any ground repairs will be led by London Borough of Lambeth. A handover is undertaken between Lambeth Landscapes team, the Parks and Development teams, Lambeth Council, and the Brockwell Live team at this point. All cleanup and reinstatement costs will be funded by the event organisers.
Brockwell Live works closely with the Lambeth trees team and Parks officers in order to protect the trees within the footprint and outside of it. This includes designing the site to ensure nothing falls within the tree line, and using ballast where we are situated close. The Lambeth trees team are involved in all stages of the planning and site design, and have sign-off of all areas of the site before the construction begins. Brockwell Live has no involvement in the management of dead or dying trees within the park. More information on this can be found here.
For further information on park repairs, please contact: events@lambeth.gov.uk.

Brockwell Live has been approved to take place within the boundaries of Lambeth’s Event Strategy and Event Policy 2020 – 2025, in addition to an agreed Events Framework on Brockwell Park in consultation with the Brockwell Park Community Partners.
Brockwell Live goes through a rigorous event application process and additional legislative and statutory procedures such as licensing and building control before our event. Our event plans are scrutinised at every stage of the planning by Officers, Councillors and agencies within the Safety Advisory Group (SAG) including MET Police Events and Licensing teams, NHS, TfL, and various Lambeth departments.
Our events are always subject to the debrief, pre-planning, consultation, and Safety Advisory Group (SAG) processes. No event in Brockwell Park is authorised until council officers and responsible agencies within the SAG are satisfied that any learning from the previous event has been considered and mitigated where possible.
In consultation with stakeholders, the Brockwell Live series takes place in the Spring so that the park is available for the community during the school holidays.

The maximum sound levels and sound level monitoring locations for the main open spaces in the London Borough of Lambeth including Brockwell Park, as follows:
- The maximum Music Noise Level (MNL) shall be 75dB L(A)eq, 15 minutes (free field) outside any noise sensitive premises.
- The maximum low frequency Music Noise Level (LFMNL) shall be 90 dB L(C)eq, 15 minutes (free field) outside any noise sensitive premises.
